I'd like to meet:

A 15 year old Fremont High School student named Raymond Washington started a gang called the Baby Avenues in 1969 (which would later become the Crips) in an attempt to be like the older gangs and copy the political activities carried out by other organizations such as the Black Panthers. The gang named itself the Avenue Cribs eventually and took on the nickname Cribs because most members were very young back then. The name Crips was first brought up in L.A. in the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper in a artical by victims of young Cribs with canes, as if they were crippled. A lot of people believe the name came to existance because of a spelling error. Either way, The name stuck.Stanley Tookie Williams is one of the co-founders of the Crips. He started his own gang called the Westside Crips. The Crips were very well know throughout southern L.A. as more and more people began to join. The Crips eventually became the biggest and most ruthless gang in California and began targetting the other non-crip gangs with daily acts of violence. In retaliation, all non-crip gangs, including the Pirus, later formed an alliance that eventually became known as the Bloods.Along with a few other friends near his 78th Street home near Fremont High School, Stanley Tookie Williams and Raymond Washington created the initial intent of continuing the revolutionary ideology of the 1960s. They failed miserably because of their lack of political leadership. They later became obsessed with protecting themselves from the other non-crip gangs in the community which began to increase violence and resistance towards the Crips. The Crips began to increas violence and take over new turf. Some of the other original founding fathers of the crips were Anglo Barefoot Pookie White, Melvin Hardy, Bennie Simpson, Greg Batman Davis, Jimel The God father Barnes, Raymond Cook, Ecky, Michael Christianson, Michael Shaft Concepcion, Mack Thomas and No 1.Most Crip sets wear blue. Some people believe the origin of the color from the school colors of Washington High School in South L.A. Other believe they started wearing blue because of "Buddha", who always wore blue shirts, khakis, shoes, and a blue bandana from his left pocket, which is why Most crip sets flag out the left side. When Buddha died, Tookie made blue the Crip color in honor of his death. The Grape Street Crips, on the other hand, have been known to wear purple in addition to blue. The Shotgun Crips are in Gardena, California and have been known to wear green, the city color of Gardena, in addition to blue to show that they are from Gardena.Through the years the Crips have grown to be one of the largest and most powerful gangs in the United States with a membership that exceeds over 100,000 gang members From the west coast all the way to the east coast. Today Crips and Hoovers are seperated, except for the 52 Hoover Gangster Crips. All other Hoovers are now known as Hoover Criminals and use orange as their color.The 8 Ball Alliance started in Kansas City, Missouri in 1993 during a gang peace summit. It started because the local crip sets and Gangster Disciple decks decided to unite under the 8 ball, which is what you get when you put the "C" hand sign and a "Pitch Fork" hand sign together. This alliance caused the crips who participated in it to adopt the 6 point star with their own meaning and create their own literature to implement the 6 point star in. In light of the Crip and Gangster Disciple alliance, the local Blood sets and Almighty Black P Stones in Kansas City, Missouri took it upon themselves to form an alliance also, the name for this alliance was called the Almghty Flame Alliance (AFA). This alliance caused the bloods who participated in it to adopt the 5 point star with their own meaning and create their own literature to implement the 5 point star in. With these new alliances came brand new practices, hybrid Blood/ABPSN and Crip/GD merges, and next-generation combination lit. Although these alliances were non-official local alliances that were not embraced in and held no weight in the motherlands of Chicago and Los Angeles, these alliances were still widely embraced by almost everyone else and quickly spread. The 8 Ball Alliance and Almighty Flame Alliance was firmly established by the end of 1993 throughout the midwest, south and most notably in the east coast. Many (not all) Chicago and Los Angeles motherland natives have shown great animosity and hatred towards these new alliances due to the many changes in the structure and ways of the Bloods, Crips, Gangster Disciples, and Almighty Black P Stones that participate in these alliances have made from their origins. Eventhough the Gangster Disciples strictly represent to the right, the 8 Ball Alliance Crip sets have continued to mostly represent to the left like the original crips. This shows that even though they have made the alliance with the Gangster Disciples, Crips are still not Folks.
