Loren Johnson is an award winning singer/songwriter and producer whose intimate, memorable, and passionately crafted songs have helped to place him before combined live audiences estimated at over 350,000 during the past seven years. This two-time Los Angeles Music Award Winner has been compared to artists like David Gray, Damien Rice and Cat Stevens but his songs and voice have an impressive fingerprint of their own.All of this is something that just a few years ago he could not have imagined. After earning an MBA, he spent the early years of his career working in the business and production side of the music industry - earning credits on over 50 national releases and as an author and co-creator of an acclaimed children's series. It was a turning away from the status quo, a desire to remove the mask of pretension and duplicity to find the true calling the purpose and design for his life that led him to cry out. The answer came at a point of near homelessness living on the floor of his production office. It was there that he realized the acceptance of his acceptance. He simply responded in song. The songs were crafted for an audience of one and yet doors soon began to open for him to sing and present these songs first in the clubs of Hollywood and then in amphitheatres, theatres and churches and in such distant places as India, Kazakhstan, Romania, and Argentina.Rich, cinematic and moving, Wholly is Loren's most ambitious and compelling recording to date. This third and latest CD documents much of his own journey including the loss of his newborn son, Reese, in 2000. This performing songwriter responds with a heart and passion for melody and lyrics that transform. The project was co-produced by music industry veteran Christopher Arnstein, whose clients have included the Eagles, Stevie Nicks, Madonna, Journey, John Waite and the Pointer Sisters. The talented players making musical contributions on the project include Kris Pooley (Gwen Stefani, Jane's Addiction, Liz Phair), Aaron Sterling (Kenna, Liz Phair), Bobby Hartry (Bryan Duncan, Crystal Lewis). Rich backing vocals are added by recording artists Tyrone Wells, John Brown, Troy Kennedy, Alan Kisaka, Sarah Lavallo and Lokelani Neese.Born in the U.S. but raised in such diverse countries as Bahrain, Ecuador and Trinidad, Loren calls Los Angeles home and has a love and passion for the city. He is a founding member of the Hollywood Transformation Coalition and sits on the board of the Oasis of Hollywood, an outreach to youth at risk. He is passionately in-love with his beautiful wife Christine and is a proud father of three. He currently serves as Worship leader and Worship Arts Pastor at King's Harbor Church in the South Bay.
