Cobalt has been a bedroom project for the past few years. Comprised of two enterprising young musicians, the duo is finally starting to make progress toward becoming more than just a project.
Lawrence and Jordan met in high school. Sharing an affinity for music, they began writing music together over ten years ago. After a hiatus during which they each worked on their own projects, they begin writing as a team again and Cobalt was formed.
The name Cobalt was derived from Lawrence and Jordan's obsession with Cobalt colored glassware. Based on the melancholy direction the songs were taking, it was deemed fitting to adopt it's use as the band's moniker. (Cobalt being a shade of blue and blue being another way of saying sad.)
