About Me

I am a student of the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am pursuing the degrees of M.D. and Ph.D. The Ph.D. portion of my training is in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. I currently work in the transplantation biology laboratory of Amelia Bartholomew, MD, FACS, of the Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation. My investigation focuses on elucidating the molecular pathology of renal fibrosis and the putative therapuetic use of mesenchymal stem cells. I work in both murine, and non-human primate models, with a strong emphasis on developing novel therapies which are suitable to progress to phase I clincial trials.
