My name is Heðin Ziska Davidsen and I am a musician and composer specializing in scandinavian ethnic jazz and rock. I play the guitar and compose the music played by the group Tjant. Coming from a small community in Scandinavia with a seriously humoristic view of things, I have a take on the world that perhaps is not so often seen. I think the world is a better place with my music in it.--------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------Tjant is a musical project based upon the compositions of Faroese composer and guitarist Heðin Ziska Davidsen. Heðin was born in 1977 and has been an active musician and composer since 1995. Playing metal and rock music side by side with ethnic jazz. Tjant released its first CD in 2003 titled "Tjant" on record label TUTL (www.tutl.com) This release featured Anders Hagberg on saxophones and flutes, Mikael Blak on bass, Brandur Jacobsen on drums and Heðin on guitar. The second CD "A Beam of Light" is in the final stages and will be out shortly. It has roughly the same line-up with Ólavur Olsen on trumpet in place of Anders Hagberg.Bands that Heðin is a member of or has been a part of include local metal band Hatespeech, folk band Enekk, ethnic jazz band Yggdrasil, ethnic jazz band A Wizards Journey, folk singer Kristleif Zachariassen and rock band Marius to name a few.
