I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships and Friends

About Me

I am a pretty private and boring person who doesn’t get along with very many people and prefers the company of a river otter or rhinoceros. I run to the beat of my own drum. (A pink steel drum with velvet straps). I don’t care to have many friends, but the small group of friends I do have I love very much. I love my family. Thankfully I still have my parents, three brothers and three sisters. They are all intelligent and extremely strong people in their own right. I could only hope to be as strong and as bright as them. Enough of my rubbish!

My Interests

I love to read, sew, build, weld, knit, do woodwork, design, and journal, play guitar, play fútbol, baseball and go running. I hate wasting time and sitting idly for things to happen. You have to make things happen! I don’t have patience for people with no patience.

I'd like to meet:

Well, I really don’t want to meet anybody. After all I am a very private person. But if you had a my limbs in a wood chipper I would have to say Evelyn Cameron, Valentina Tereshkova, Amelia Earhart, Mary Katherine Goddard, Elizabeth Blackwell, Antoinette Blackwell and Hattie Wyatt Caraway, to name a few incredible people in history. Yes, I know they are all women, but that is precisely the point women have played such an important role in who I am today and have been some of my greatest heroes. My late grandmother, rest her soul, my mom and my sister Lupe are my greatest influences and mentors. Most of the men in my life have been extremely unreliable, shallow and destructive. However, I rank George Washington Carver as one of my most favorite people of all time. A true hero and extremely underrated. He was an agricultural chemist who found at least 300 uses for peanuts and hundreds of uses for soybeans pecans and sweet potatoes. He didn’t patent nor profit from many of his inventions. He freely gave his discoveries to mankind. He could’ve really profited from his vast knowledge, but instead preferred living modestly.

Music:

I love a wide range of music in many different languages. Even languages I can’t understand or am fluent in like French, Spanish and I guess English, which is my weakest language. I love an old Mexican trio called Los Panchos. They were great in there time and were all classically trained at the Julliard School of Music in New York. I like music from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I have several of his CD’s. I love old Argentinean Tango’s from the legendary Carlos Gardel. I have whatever I can get a hold of his albums. I am a huge fan of South African artist Yvonne Chaka Chaka. I love Andrea Bocelli, jazz pianist and composer Dave Brubeck, Cajun French Music and Michael Nyman. Nyman is kind of eclectic and it’s definitely an acquired taste. Anybody who really knows me knows that my two favorite bands are The Smiths and The Beatles. But I am all over the place. Good music is good music and I am very opened minded about the matter.

Movies:

I prefer going by myself! I really love old movies too. The classics on TCM and AMC!

Television:

I don’t care for television very much. It would entail me staying home and watching it and aside from the History Channel, some sports, news and other documentaries I’d rather be reading or doing than just sitting and uploading rubbish into my skull.

Books:

Ugh! Wow that is too personal. My choice in authors and books are things that I only divulge to my closest of friends, family and dog. Although I am open minded about that as well and would be willing to give any book a read if it comes highly recommended by my closest friends, family or dog. I’ve been far too critical of other people’s favorite authors in the past. I say to each their own in what they choose. People and differences in opinion are what make the world go round or down or up or diagonal or off it’s axis for that matter.

Heroes:

Mostly women with a few men sprinkled here and there. Heroes are also people who really do what they want to do and have the courage to stand up for what’s right in this cluster of atoms we call earth. Furthermore heroes are people who are crusaders against injustice, but mostly genuinely good people. At least that’s how I feel.
