Anton began to dance at 14, and quickly started to compete in school competitions, he initially trained in Ballroom and Latin but later decided to concentrate on Ballroom.His professional dance partner is Erin Boag with whom he has danced for seven years, winning many competitions both in the UK and internationally, they are now rated in the World's top 24 Ballroom couples. Their professional achievements include the IDTA Classic Champion 2003, BDF Star Ball Finalist 2003, British National Finalist, 2002 and 2003, UK & International Rising Star Finalist 2003 and UBC Canadian Champion 2002. Anton has also trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz and modern theatre dance.
Anton teaches in several studios throughout London and the UK and continues to train himself with teachers; Marcus and Karen Hilton, Richard and Janet Gleave, Michael and Vicky Barr and Len Armstrong.In spring 2004, Anton was invited to be one of the professional dancers on the first series of the BBC1 hit show Strictly Come Dancing. Anton's celebrity partner was Lesley Garrett CBE, and together they reached the semi-finals. In autumn 2004, Anton took part in the second series of Strictly Come Dancing, with celebrity partner Esther Rantzen OBE.In July 2004 Anton joined guest artists Ruthie Henshall and Michael McCarthy for a gala concert with Lesley Garrett filmed in Leeds and broadcast on BBC2, and then danced with Lesley Garrett again for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special: Champion of Champions in December 2004.In August 2005 Anton was featured in a BBC2 drama documentary on the history of the Strauss family and the Viennese Waltz, titled King of the Waltzes and joined Nick Knowles and Nadia Sawalha as a guest presenter on BBC1's City Hospital. He has appeared in both series of BBC1's Strictly Dance Fever as a regular guest, dancer and coach. Together with Erin Boag, he has recently choreographed the live stage show Simply Ballroom.In the autumn of 2005, Anton returned to Strictly Come Dancing with celebrity partner Patsy Palmer, as well as making guest appearances on BBC1's Celebrity Star Spell, Test the Nation,the celebrity edition of The Weakest Link and Loose Women. In 2006, Anton has appeared in concert with Claire Sweeney, Wayne Sleep and Bonnie Langford and presented his own shows on BBC Radio Oxford. During the summer he conducted a nationwide search for BBC New Talent to find six amateur ballroom dancers who together with professional partners took part in the BBC's Dancing in the Streets in a specially choreographed sequence as part of the final evening in Trafalgar Square. He also hosted a dance workshop and ran the mile for Sports Relief. He returned to Strictly Come Dancing last autumn with celebrity partner Jan Ravens. Anton will be returning to out Screen this October for SCD5!
