No Square

« No Square » fondé en Juillet 1994 est formé du saxophoniste Guillaume Perret, du pianiste Stefan Aeby, du bassiste André Hahne et du batteur Yannick Oppliger. Les musiciens ont créé individuellement et collectivement les morceaux originaux que l’on retrouve dans sept albums : « The Fly »(1996), « Green Apples » (1997), « Empreintes » (1999), « Live à la Case à Chocs » (2000), « C’est où Doregon ?» (2002), « Double Album Studio & Live » (2005) et « Le Pendu » (2008).
« No square » s’est produit dans de nombreux clubs en Suisse. Il a joué en Allemagne lors de ses dernières tournées (Hambourg –Brême – Berlin –Dresden – Leipzig – Essen – Wuppertal – Frankfurt – München).Invité par Chucho Valdes au Festival International Jazz Plaza de la Havane 1998, le trio a représenté la Suisse à Cuba et y a donné trois concerts les 17-18-19 décembre. « No Square » a aussi joué à Buenos Aires (Argentine) au mois de mars 2000, au Festival de Cully au mois de mars 2001, à Punta del Este (Uruguay) et Buenos Aires (Argentine) en avril 2001, au festival du Soleil (JU )en Juin 2001, au festival Mlode Kino Europejski à Torun (Pologne) en avril 2003 au Jazz festival de Schaffhouse le 17 mai 2003, au Jazz Festival Hutwill ( Nov 03), au Rhino Jazz Festival Rives de Gier (France) le 7 octobre 2004 au Jazz Festival Nancy Jazz Pulsations (France) le 13 octobre 2004, en Thaïlande au mois de novembre 2004, à Buenos Aires (Argentine) et Santiago de Chile (Chili) en octobre 2005, Aux Jazz Festivals de Neubrandenburg, de Stuttgart et Kempten au printemps 2007 et aux Jazz Festivals de Rotterdam, d’Annecy et de Nordhausen à l’automne 2007.
No Square à également réalisé dans le cadre du Collectif Fa7 la pièce de théâtre et musique le « Roestigraben Box » (2003) (www.roestigraben-box.ch), a collaboré au projet de Beat Sterchi et Adi Blum « Bitzius » pour l’enregistrement d’un Cd et la création d’un spectacle en commémoration des 150 ans de la mort de l’écrivain Jeremias Gotthelf, a réalisé la pièce de Théâtre « La Voix Humaine » de Jean Cocteau en Juillet 2004 et la création “Les Jeux sont Faits!” en julliet 2006. Le Collectif Fa7 en collaboration avec la Compagnie des voyages extraordinaires prépare sa nouvelle création pour septembre 2008 “RAME” (prix SSA 2007).

« No Square » as performed in numerous Clubs and Festivals.Over the last years they have toured in Germany playing in (Hambourg –Brême – Berlin –Dresden – Leipzig – Essen – Wuppertal – Frankfurt – München) Invited by Chucho Valdes at the international Havana Jazz Festival in 1998, the quartet represented Switzerland in Cuba and gave 3 concerts 17-18-19 December. « No Square » also played in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in March 2000, at the Cully Jazz Festival (Switzerland) in March 2001, in Punta del Este (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires in April 2001, at the Jazz Festival du Soleil (Switzerland) in June 2001, at the Mlode Kino Europjski festival in Torun (Poland) in April 2003, at the Schaffhausen Jazz Festival (Switzerland) in Mai 2003, at the Jazz Festival Hutwill ( Nov 03), at the Rhino Jazz Festival Rives de Gier (France) in October 2004 at the Jazz Festival Nancy Jazz Pulsations (France) in October 2004, inThaïland at the Pataya jazz Festival in November 2004, in Buenos Aires (Argentina) Santiago (Chile) in october 2005, at the Jazz Festivals from Neubrandenburg, de Stuttgart et Kempten in spring 2007 and at Jazz Festivals from Rotterdam, d’Annecy et de Nordhausen in Autumn 2007
No Square has produced with the Collectif Fa7 the music of the play « Roestigraben Box » (2003) (www.roestigraben-box.ch), the music of « Bitzius », a play in memory of Jeremias Gotthelf, the music of the play « La Voix Humaine » from Jean Cocteau in July 2004 and the music of “Les Jeux sont Faits!” in July 2006. The Collectif Fa7 in collaboration with “La Compagnie des voyages extraordinaires”are producing the new creation for september 2008 “RAME” at the Vidy Theater in Lausanne
