Fourteen" Matt Ford
________________________________________First, watch out for what you ask for! You, may get it, and so here it is. A great effort Matt, but! You need to have more confidence in your talants, you have a god given gift in your voice and your style. That's right you have your own style believe it or not. The album has a nice cross sections of your abilities in presenting a song and being inventive, I like the way you present "Rabbit In A Long" but the way you have used the hair comb to add to it.I have been a judge in many a country music contest over the year national and local, and I always score a talent extra, when they show the judges and the audience there song writing talents. And national constants always include that in the score cards. You have included some very well written traditional, Gospel, and comtempory songs on this album. "I Am Man". in my opinion can stand among any I have heard in my years of playing gospel music, and the instrumentation is wonderful. And "All That Love" ouch. And I have had a gospel radio Ministry in my day too, and I wouldn't hesitate to include that in my gospel song play list. Wonderful harmonies and primitive sing on "Pass Over Me" too.Now we come to the best father's salute to his son in song, "Fat Baby" my Lord brother what father out there can not identify with that song, and wish he could put his feelings about his baby boy like that including me.And if "Luice Hassell" isn't picked up by some name in the business then they are losing out. But don't worry about I believe here in the next few year's people are going to be talking about Matt Ford, like they talk about Larry Cordle or any of the other male artist that I was playing on the radio for the first time ten, twenty years ago for the first time. And then you can put that on one of your's and win awards.I always like to see albums that have original tunes on it as well as song's that other new songwriters are doing. And if I was a country music director I would even add "Don't Mess Around with Mama"! to the play list, to bad there aren't any country stations around anymore. Thanks Mr. Ford for letting me, be one of the first to play a Matt Ford song. And Lum told me to tell you and that's truth, he said it and is sticking to it, so there! Fire up the stoker and move it on out. He give's it 8 picks up!
