ILL SoN & MyNd are members of the hip-hop phenomenon known as The Foundation. Both were born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. They have been staples in the Western New York music scene for years. They have been ground breaking in their music and efforts towards bringing national recognition to the area.
In 2000, the duo left Niagara Falls and went to Hollywood, California where they performed venues with; The Black Eyed Peas at the House Of Blues in Hollywood, Ja Rule at the Sky Bar in L.A, G-Unit at BB-Kings in N.Y.C. They also toured WNY with the hip-hop group Living Colour and many more. After being offered several music contracts that were to say the least, less then promising, the duo decided it was time to return to Western New York with one goal in mind: "Light a Flame". Once back at home the duo decided to keep bringing their music to the public. From 2005 to present they have performed numerous shows at local venues throughout Western New York, drawing fans in the 100’s.
The foundation’s ultimate goal is to be successful as artists so they can bring something back to their loving and supporting home town. They want to move on from being “One of the best kept secrets†as quoted in the local Niagara Falls Gazette in 2006, to being “An International trend setterâ€.
To the Foundation this is more then music, this is a movement, this is their life. With each captivating song that has a real life-like story and with every performance the duo take part in, they show to have enough energy to power a small fleet of motor vehicles. This is a fuel that burns full-throttle and is ignited by the heat from the lyrics, beats and audience. Passion and hard work are not lacking from this DyNaMiC DuO.
