Mud Rüum is a jamband from the Rochester area that infuses popular music with elements of funk, blues, psychedelia, and improvisation. Mud Ruum maintains a set-list of over 40 cover songs(Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Sublime, Bob Marley, The Band, Blue Oyster Cult, etc) and a handful of originals. A typical Mud Ruum show can be described as a high energy explosion of different music genres on acid.
"In September of 2006, I was invited to a party and despite not knowing almost anyone there, I decided to go. When I got to the party, I heard familiar music emanating from a small stage. Being a musician myself, I was drawn to it. I was amazed by the plethora of different material that John Carter flawlessly played on his guitar and sang -- I remember comparing him to a jute box. I stood and watched him, while making conversation with a fellow spectator about what we were witnessing. As fate would have it, that spectator, Toby Crouse, was a bass player who was just about to get up and perform with his long time friend and band-mate. I told him of my seemingly endless search for like-minded musicians and after a couple of songs, he invited me to perform with them. As the two of us approached the stage, John seemed skeptical, but agreed to try it out. However, I hadn’t intended on playing and didn’t bring my guitar. Rick Constantino, a drummer who was running the PA System at the time let me borrow his guitar and set me up. Though I was only improvising over material I didn’t know, we were all struck by the instant chemistry. Within a week, the four of us put together a list of fifteen songs, began rehearsing, and Mud Ruum was born. John Moore cemented the lineup two years later as their keyboardist." - Casey Bloom
