HotFreeLayoutsBorn on the 28th February 1995, young Nikkolai was like any other baby cute , demanding and quite fussy. Little did his family know that this little bundle of joy would turn their lives topsy-turvy one year & 3 days after he was born. Nikki was involved in an automobile accident where he sustained broken ribs, a punctured lung and a badly damaged spine which left him paralysed from the waist down, there was no sign on the outside as to what had happened. To make a long story short yet interesting...It has been a long, slow journey for Nikki.
Because the lack of funds, no doctor had looked at him over the last ten yrs other than a therpist who did her best to keep his lower body active through excercise...Nikki....being the dtermined boy that he is always harped at his mom as tp when someone will make him walk again...there's so much he wanted to do...
by the time he was 9 his mom decided that enough was enough and she had to try and do something and after some serious internet research and expensive long-distance phone calls she located the Bloorview McMillan Centre in Toronto who agreed to try and help out.
Once she had a facility and an idea of how much money was needed she began her fund-raising venture for her son..so came about the "Nikki's Wish Project".
His first live performance came when his mom put on a Musical concert for him dubbed Nikkis's Wish, during anplay where a "ficticious" OPRAH was the motivation for his song. Many car washes, cake-sales...you name it she did it to raise funds as well as write his first single..."Walk with my mama again" which he recorded and is now being sold in Barbados to help raise funds for other Differently Abled children.
This venture had nikki rub shoulders with some very prestigious and wealthy people who alsoincluded him in their annual fundraising efforts...This orgaisation is the John Lodge Children's Trust of Barbados in association with Sandy Lane Hotel. and The Variety Club of Barbados.
Together they raised the over $70,000.00 needed for nikki ito have corrective surgery and today he is walking with an RGO.He is also at one of the island's most prestigious high school..and excelling. He's always been an A student.Nikki wants to record many more songs and with his mom's help he will strive to do just tha...so be on the look out for this lil one to continue to do great things.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
