About Me

Stephen Jones Career 1994/ 01 – Started performing solo in the early 90s inspired by the burgeoning acoustic folk/rock/indie scene emerging in Belfast. By the mid 90s he had turned professional. Through one residency which was to last over six years he received invites to support major touring acts. Released Nervous Town CD with its critically acclaimed tracks, 'Cathy Come Home' and 'Reading Aloud James Joyce'. 2001/ 02 – Organised singer/songwriter nights in two Belfast music venues, Katy Dalys and Auntie Annies. Here he tried to encourage female songwriters to perform in what was increasingly a predominantly male arena. Many of the acts that performed there for the first time went on to greater things, many still perform…at least two professionally in New York. Performance – Supported many major acts in Ireland including; Jools Holland, Vonda Sheppard, The Corrs, Wishbone Ash, Brian Kennedy, Tom Robinson, the late Kirsty McColl and, strangely enough, Bjorn Again. Many live TV and radio appearances. Over 500 live performances to date.

Live 3

I used to gig with a weighted keyboard. I think it was a Studio 1000 with a midi top box which had about 50 piano sounds. It was one heavy piece of kit. Nowadays there's probably lighter alternatives....

Good old Gerry Anderson. He's been playing some of my songs on his show. Gerry really listens to his stuff before he plays it, so he knows a bit about the music. He played Reading Aloud James Joyce wh...

Ho ho ho

Who has written a 2006 Christmas song? Who is writing a 2007 Christmas hit? Not me but I wish I could. How many people send Christmas cards to people they see every day? If so why? Is there a point to...
