About Me

In the very early days I studied Trumpet, Bassoon and Percussion. But the instrument I actually wanted to play was electric guitar… Eventually I got my way! The teenage years was spent in damp cellars and garages playing in various Rock bands. I made a brief appearance in an early incarnation of what would become the band “Hanoi Rocks” at that time called “The Nymfomaniacs”… After a mysteriously disappearing record collection followed by some broken windows in the flat I lived in (14 m2…). I decided that the Rock n’ Roll of Hanoi Rocks had to do without me.I moved on to the, somewhat safer, ground of the “New wave” movement that were thriving at that time (79-81). Dressed in black I played my way through various constellations of bands with varying amounts of chorus-drenched guitar sounds…After a brief brush with the experience of starting up a computer education company (81) I decided that maybe the music was a better place for me. I took of to San Francisco to study recording engineering at “College of Recording Arts” (84-85) and received a Recording engineer diploma. Worked as a resident engineer and producer at the San Francisco studio: “Starlight Sound” From (84 to 87). Amongst the noteworthy productions were “Rumors” by Timex Social Club (the maxisingle sold 2.5 million copies in the US), The first Melvins album, the first (and hopefully last) attempt to fuse surfrock and rap with the song “Surf or Die” (!) . On top of that numerous graveyard sessions with the local thugs trying to meet early Hip Hop stardom and old S.F. hippies that still were trying to relive the spirit of 68… Moved back to Sweden in 1987 and formed the Production Company: “Bom Krash Production”. Which went on to produce a large number of successful Albums and Singles for many major Swedish recording artists. Was awarded the Swedish Grammy Award for “Producer of the year” 1993 for the work with Fleshquartet and their album “Flow”. Along with the production and studio work I also worked as a touring musician with various bands all through the 90:s.In 1995 I started the Record label: Primal Music where I, together with my younger brother Ludvig, released a number of progressive musical recordings, primarily during 1998-2000.In 98 my band “Baxter” was signed to Maverick Records in the US where we released the critically acclaimed self-titled album. The song “Television” peaked at #1 in the college radio playlists. Unfortunately Maverick kinda botched up the opportunity at hand when they dropped all focus on Baxter to work the second Alanis Morisette album. Hey, gotta pay for the Porche somehow, don’t ya!?I constructed and built a state of the art studio, “Primal Studio” in (99-00). And I have since then worked as a Producer/Mix-engineer for most of the major record companies in Sweden. On and off during the years I have scored for feature films and TV shows. This activity has lately become more of the main focus for me.Most recently I did the score for the Swedish film “Storm” and also got the chance to record my compositions with The Swedish Radio Orchestra for the historical miniseries “Snaphanar” on SVT. Ahh, the joy to have 80+ musicians working at the same time performing something you thought up…2007 hosts a full load of events that I really look forward to! The release of the cover album “Search & Destroy” that I’ve been working with for the last couple of years, together with the beautiful and vastly talented Sofia, a new Baxter album and more filmwork and, and, and… A selected discography as Mixer, Producer or Artist: 1984: Timex Social club: Rumours Melvins: Gluey Porch Treatment 1985: Club Noveau: Club Noveau 1986: Surf MC’s: Surf or die 1987: Leila K: Got to Get Pappa D: Microphone poet 1988: Electric Boys/Svullo: För fet för ett fuck Mc Tim: Jag e Def 1989: Just D: Ett steg fram och två steg bak Pappa D: Lettin of Steam 1990: Just D: Svenska Ord Oven and Stove: Everything you need to know about… 1991: Fleshquartet: Flow Pelle Almgren och Wow Liksom: Allting är Bra Nordman: Nordman Ulf Lundell: Maria kom tillbaka 1992: Just D: Rock n’ Roll Love Kings: Deeper 1993: Fistfunk: Total mass confusion Amen: Silver 1994: Milky: Milkyway LPC: Interspecies communication 1995: Rammstein: Rammstein 1996: Fleshquartet: Flow 1997: Amen: Lakefront 1998: Baxter: Baxter Fleshquartet: Jag gör vad som helst för lite solsken 1999: Krom: This 2000: Fleshquartet: Love Go Eclectic Bob: Chocolate Garden 2001: Nåid: Nåid Infinite Mass: The Face Weeping Willows: In to the light 2002: AHA, Lisa Miskowski, Standfast: Album tracks 2003: Eric Gadd: Life Support Baxter: About This Grand Tone Music: Go to Hell 2004: Weeping Willows: Precense OddJob: Koyo 2005: Goran Kajfes: Headspin 2006: Nina Ramsby and Martin Hederos : Jazzen
