M.I.B

About Me

M.I.B(mixed interacial brothers) are the creators of the newest hip hop craze sweeping through AUS known as ARABIAN HIPHOP. M.I.B are a commercial hip hop group bringing in a blend of old school hip hop styles and the freshest new school hip hop styles representing their origin.. Sydney DOWN UNDER - reflecting multicultural Australia through their diverse musical influences evident in their beats and lyrics. M.I.B is ultimately created and 'backboned' by the lead rapper/writer/producer Will Elnahree a.k.a 'L.D' from sydneys inner west, who is of Lebanese background and the 'brain' behind the groups success and is the creator of 'ARABIAN HIPHOP', his brother 'ROCK' Eddie, who brings live drumming to this awesome 'ARABIAN- HIPHOP' sound, is also a key man to the whole M.I.B phenomena.. members include a selection of various rap artists from Sydney and AUS. Added high lights include live guitars and percussions and dancers bringing hype to the live stage performances. All this is mixed live on stage by JAY DOSE who is MIB's official DJ and also co producer to LD
Always delivering a great 'hype' on stage, M.I.B are growing to be a crowd favourite with a recent independent debut album launch, which was held at Westfield parramatta, attracting the attention of local media, with write-ups being published regularly, and a massive turnout ! Also radio stations such as the Edge 96.1 are constantly playing selected tracks off the debut album due to populare demand regularly.
The sound of M.I.B can be described as a blend of hiphop and culture where a combination of attractive melodies and bouncy beats underline an original lyrical flow representing everyday life all familiare to multicultural Australia.
Talk back with 'L.D'….
1. Yes we promote multiculturalism through our music only because that is what we are! It is not a 'thought-up' idea or something we 'try' to do.. it is simply the real thing. We are multicultural because we are.. not because it is a title we like to use or adapt. We simply are.. so, in saying this, I believe this country, which is our country, is what it is.. a 'multicultural society' all under one roof titled 'Australian' and in order for us as a country to be deserving of our multicultural image we must first respect and acknowledge that we are all Australian and be proud of our backgrounds which makes us part of this multicultural nation.. our music isn't aimed at a certain image of multicultural Australia though.. it is simply hiphop and we 'happen' to be of ethnic backgrounds making us a part of 'multicultural australia' as a whole. So.. I truelly feel I am simply being Australian in that Australia truelly is multicultural and I think it is deservant of its multicultural image!
2. ARABIAN HIPHOP is two things.. 1. The 4/4 beat in Arabic music which in my opinion has the hiphop feel in it. As I grew up in a blend of Lebanese culture and Australian culture I was exposed at an early age to both hiphop and Arabic music both via television and radio.. and having an ear for music since the early age of around 8 years, I was feeling both the Arabic beat and the hiphop beat as one and began rapping naturally everytime i would hear the Arabic beat! Hence the creation of 'Arabian Hiphop!' I must have created it when I first felt the perfect combination at that early age but I was too young to actually realize the creation! So here we are now creating this perfect blend for all the people who want to hear it, and to all of those who don't? well as soon as you do you will be converted! It truelly is simply a 4/4 beat that brings spice and energy to the traditional hiphop beat as you know it. 2. Arabian Hiphop represents my personality through my background and my identity which I use as a role model for all who can relate to who I am.. of Arabian descent born in the west with the best of both worlds coming together as one!.. Both Arabian and hiphop culture becoming one and my identity is evident through the music delivered and the words spoken.
3. 'The Ethnic Phenomena', being our debut album, does have a certain theme that runs through most of the songs.. who we are, what we want, what we do, and who we represent. These things in my opinion are always evident in all hiphop debut albums as the artist is introducing himself to the people for the first time and wants them to know these things so as to attract or represent all who identify! Thus starting the fan base and the beginning of the following. People are attracted to different things.. it can be the beat, the melody or the lyrics that gets them hooked.. even just the image can do it for many! So we try to balance all this out through our music so you get the blend of all of the above thus appealing to a wide range of audience.
4. 'The Ethnic Phenomena' was a 2 year recording process but many years of building up the momentum and finding our true selves in the music which we wanted to put out! Debut albums are always the most important and it was a bit tricky for us as we wanted to keep a bit of our culture for our peoples yet open up the market and go mainstream at the same time. Thankfully it all worked out and we managed to have a hit single on The New Edge 96.1 titled 'Leb Industry vol. 1' off the bonus cd and most recently 'Hey Shorty'. Our culture is what we always wanted to represent as we believe in it and our aim is to 'bring culture with a mission to go platinum' as i say in one of my verses! In saying this, I don't mean culture in its traditional form, rather culture as we know it.. the way we feel it born and raised in Australia with the blend of our background and of our present coming together to form the future.
5. We don't look at the game in comparison.. we do what we do and believe in what we do and we love the feeling of getting up onto that stage and delivering our sound to our people. We have supported international acts infront of large crowds and have performed in many events but every performance is a new one every time and the thrill and hype is always a first.. ……

Influences:The Biggest and ‘first’ Arabian Hip hop event ever was held on Sunday night April 8th @ the Bellevue Bankstown courtesy of ALD Records and was a huge success with a turnout of over two thousand people!! The venue was at full capacity seating 1100 people and a few hundred standing awaiting Arabian Hip hop sensations M.I.B to enter the stage- and what an entry it was. M.I.B took the stage with an entry like never seen before in Sydney- a thousand screaming fans, dance floor jam-packed, and the journey to claiming the title “the Kings of Hip hop downunder” has definitely begun. M.I.B have certainly beaten the odds against them and have proven that Hip-hop in Australia is truly alive and strong. “Arabian Hip hop is the sound of the streets which reflect multicultural and ethnic Australia”- L.D (the lead rapper and producer of M.I.B) says- and he now has grounds to back this statement. A mixed culture of people from all areas of Sydney and even Australia such as Perth, Melbourne and Canberra were in attendance on Sunday and all were there in support of M.I.B with original tracks being chanted and an energy rarely witnessed in any local event before. Support acts included the boys from ‘Fat Pizza’ who kept the crowd entertained prior to M.I.B and a number of prominent djs. Also the Edge 96.1 radio host Chris Fade made an appearance and introduced M.I.B onto the stage.
The M.I.B set was an outstanding and action-packed performance delivering a constant hype from beginning to end. After the show the boys signed autographs for all the fans. M.I.B have a new 4-track single out now and can be purchased by visiting mibonline.com.au.

PICS of MIB @ CHINGY CONCERT

M.I.B once again put on an awesome performance at the CHINGY concert which was held last friday night november 17th @ Big Top Luna Park. The Arabian Hiphop Sensations once again had the crowd bouncing to their beats as they rapped rhymes which seemed all too familiare to the excited crowd who were chanting back lyrics off tracks which have become extremely populare through constant air-play on The Edge 96.1 radio! 'Hey Shorty' was a crowd favourite with a new track titled 'Arabian Anthem' (yet- to- be- released) also creating an enormous hype. It seems that M.I.B have truelly broken the boundaries of traditional Hiphop and are setting a new standard for Australian Hiphop and the Hiphop culture as a whole.. originality and proffesoinalism are all to evident in their distinctive sound and the crowd seems to be embracing this.
