I have to agree with Jane Austen, I have ALWAYS loved a good book since the time I COULD read, and I simply do NOT understand people who don't read.I am a part of the Hollywood Prayer Network. No, it is not silly to pray for Hollywood, can you think of anyplace that needs more prayer?!! If you share my burden for Hollywood you can join too, it's www.hollywoodprayernetwork.orgI am a Missouri native, grew up on a small farm in a very small town the boonies, raised by a Texan mother and an "Okie" father, so I am simple and "countrified" at times. So what? It's just me. :) Don't you think it adds to my charm? LOL! But I DO have a love for big cities and major shopping as well as beaches, palm trees, and the ocean. I like culture and exotic things, and I have a love for all things English!

Music is the first love of my life, I eat breathe and sleep music! Contemporary Christian Music is my fave, I like oldies from the 50's 60's and 70's,(ELVIS ROCKS!) YES I do like disco, so shoot me. I also like the 80's pop stuff I used to listen to in High School, I am an 80's throwback, I will admit it. Can't face the fact that I'm in my 30's already... AUGH!!! Janet Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson,Duran Duran, WHAM!, Bon Jovi, Def Leppord, and The Beach Boys are some of my old faves. I have faced a lot of teasing of the years for my love of Barry Manilow,

The Carpenters, and Air Supply, but I don't care! I like Jlo a bit, and Aaliyah. I love Scott Bakula's singing, he needs to make more music in my opinion! I listen to Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, DC Talk, Audio Adrenalin, The Newsboys, Pray For Rain, Bebo Norman and Phillips Craig and Dean. (Dan Dean is my "cousin in law" his brother is married to my cousin. Yes I have "Minor fame syndrome" as my hubby lovingly calls it...) I like a lot of different stuff, folk music, independant artists... the obscure... Vishten, Grand Derangement, The Wailin' Jenny's, The Arrogant Worms, Chuchumbe, Weird Al.... I recently found I like Hawk Nelson, Tree 63, Out of Eden, Switchfoot, Casting Crowns....
I grew up around country music because of my dad, and as a DJ at KSUM I play country so I do have a soft spot for some of it, especially Keith Urban and Darrel Worrley, both of whom I was So lucky to meet in person! As always I still love my old John Schneider tapes.I have a small thing for cowboys. LOL!I like Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Bobbi Gentry, all probably because of my Dad's influence. :) Daddy always said "If it aint country it aint music!" I don't agree with THAT.... I love music, period. There is not much I don't like unless it's loud icky heavy metal.. (sorry Dave) I like it when people SING, not scream. LOL. SO ANYWAY... you asleep yet?
OH GOSH! I have sooo many favorite movies! I love to watch movies! Thankfully we have TVG (TV Gaurdian) on our VCR and DVD player, it blocks out bad words and puts up a caption replacement on the screen, so now we can watch movies and NOT hear all the junk! Though sometimes the way it works is funny... it replaces words consistantly, so it might blank out cotton balls and replace it with "cotton tail" Too funny! But it's better than hearing the bad stuff so it's worth it. Why Hollywood thinks every movie these days has to be full of filthy language is beyond me! ANYWAY! Pride and Prejudice, I LOVED THAT ONE! What a great movie! I loved Sense and Sensibility, and Emma, also Becomming Jane. (about the life of Jane Austen, and starring one of my favorite actresses, Anne Hathaway!) I am a hopeless romantic, too many Barbara Cartland romances when I was a kid! LOL!

I don't have a TV at home though I do have a vcr, dvd player and a monitor. I like to watch TV when we travel and stay in motels though, and I used to get my MIL to tape some stuff for me sometimes. Those days are over, guess she doesn't have a vcr in heaven.. :) I LOVE Mystery Science Theater 3000. I like ANYTHING on Animal Planet, my faves there are Croc Hunter, (may he Rest in Peace), Jeff Corwin, and Animal Precinct. I LOVE CSI, CSI Miami and CSI New York!!! I like CSI best of all and Grissom is my FAVE though Horatio and Taylor are cool too. I also like old shows on Nick at Night like Cosby, I Dream of Jeannie, The Brady Bunch, Good Times, The Monkees, The Beverly Hillbillies, and stuff like that. I have loved The Dukes of Hazzard (YEEEHAW!) since I was a kid, had a huge crush on Bo Duke.. hee hee. Who didn't? I love Remington Steele, I am in the process of getting them all on DVD! Golly I loved Pierce Brosnan when I was a teenager! LOL! And I wanted to be like Stephanie Zimbalist's character, Laura Holt. I also LOVED WKRP in Cincinnati, who knows? Maybe that show is what made me want to be a DJ? LOL! When I first got married we used to watch "Quantum Leap" at my MIL's house, we just started renting the DVDs to that one too... man I love that show! Scott Bakula is an amazing actor. (and SINGER too!) Dean Stockwell was hilarious in his role as Al. GREAT show. Too bad it had to end, as all great things do, eventually. Thank God for DVD! Now I can share the show with my kids! STAR TREK too... ALL OF THEM!
I loved that show since I was 2, William Shatner was my first celebrity crush. LOL! My mother says I could barely walk and I carried a matchbox around and flipped it open saying "Kirk to Enterprise" too funny! I also like those new home improvement shows like surprise by design and extreme makeover home edition. THAT show always makes me cry! I also love cartoons, I like Sponge Bob and Kim Possible as well as The Rugrats and the Animaniacs. :) I like funny stuff as long as it's clean. Law and Order and Cold Case are facinating but I've recently tried not to watch them so much because the subject matter is so disturbing. I know there is crime in the world, this is reality, but I really don't want to know all the gory details. Oh for the simple days of Quincy... *sigh* I just got so addicted to CSI and NCIS, it's all too intriguiging!! Forensics are very interesting but I would probably hurl if I had that job! Honestly, I love TV too much but I am of the opinion it rots the brain, so it's a good thing I don't have one in my home. I'd never get anything done! Watching DVDs is bad enough! I love to curl up with a good old BOOK! Ever heard of them? LOL!

I love to read, getting lost in a good book is just heavenly. Reading is to the brain what excercise is to the body.

I LOVE TO READ, I have lots of favorites. Some of my new favorite authors are Beverly Lewis and Dee Henderson. Jane Austen was a genius, LOVE her work...I love old Barbara Cartland romances though I don't read them much anymore. I always loved Sherlock Holmes and mystery novels like Nancy Drew, the Three Investigators, and Trixie Belden.
