About Me

bgcolor=#6699FF ..My name is Lola Love and I'm the host, producer and director of "The Zydeco Workout", a national online webcast dedicated to Southern Soul, Blues, and Zydeco Music & Creole Culture. I love all sorts of music, from old school, r&b, latin jazz, jazz fusion and oh YES!!...Zydeco Music!!
What is Zydeco Music?? (www.zydecoonline.com)
Zydeco Music is a unique form of musical expression that originated in rural southwest Louisiana. The music draws upon French, Creole, West African, Cajun, Caribbean, and R & B musical traditions. Zydeco Music is characterized by the use of the accordion, spoons, scrubboard, fiddle and triangle.
As a matter of fact, if you are reading this..you are listening to Zydeco music on my page ;) I Just love Zydeco, and have a passion to promote Zydeco everywhere that I go. :)
What do I do when I'm not working on The Zydeco Workout? I work on music projects: music editing, voice overs, commercials, radios spots, but what I really love doing is interviewing various artists, and documenting/ archiving those interviews for future generations to enjoy. I also attend various festivals and events around the world, taking pictures and writing articles for our website: www.ZydecoOnline.com

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Ms. Rosie Ledet - One of the most beautiful and talented Zydeco ladies out there. Selena who is gone, but not forgotten! (Muchos abrasos-en done estes!)
Zydeco Joe - I actually met Zydeco Joe at Step & Strut 2006. He had an excellent voice and such a wonderful personality! That's what I'm talking about!!...old school/traditional Zydeco in the house. Sadly Zydeco Joe passed away on October 17, 2007. He touched many people via his music, powerful stage presence and his wonderful ability to speak about his Creole culture. He cared deeply for his people, he was a proud Creole man; and his energy will not be forgotten.
