Born into a family of poverty, Mieko spent her child hood working in rice fields with her mother during the day and at night she would go down to the docks and help her father and brothers mend their fishing nets. It was the night that she looked forward to the most because while she fixed the holes in the nets she got to watch her brothers spar. She learned what she could from them and her father. She learned alot form her mother as well. Tradition and honor mostly. Her mother was very strict with her, since she was their only daughter. She would never allow her to go to the market or into the palace walls on Sundays as the rest of the village children got to. But she didn't mind it much, she knew her mother must have had reason. She didn't get to meet many people other than the close neighbors. Until the day a few warriors came back from a battle and they rode through her village. As she was out in the rice fields, she stood up and shielded her eyes from the suns light. She could see a very beautiful man ontop of a palamino horse. She thought to herself that he must be of great importance. Her mother scolded her for "oogling like a little school girl", but she paid no mind to it and watched this man until he was through the palace gates. She wasn't sure what she felt but she knew it was something and she hoped this man would return to their village someday again.
Mieko prides herself in being able to protect herself in any sitaution she may end up in, by being familiar in t2 s15 and s20. She doesn't look for confrontations and hopes to avoid them at all costs. But, she protects the honor of her name and loved ones no matter what.
