Band Members: Elizabeth Tan is a cellist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and teaching assistant to Li-Wei Qin at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. Liz has played with the Malaysian Philharmonic, Kuala Lumpur Symphony and Fingersmith String Quartet, and performs with the Singapore Festival Orchestra in 2009 and 2010 as Principal Cello.

In 2000 and 2001 Liz spent two summers at the Meadowmount School of Music in New York, where she studied with cellist Hans Jensen. She has learnt under Liwei Qin, Nella Hunkins, Joseph Rodgers and Steven Retallick, and performed in masterclasses for Ralph Kirshbaum, Natalia Gutman, Jian Wang, Eleanore Schoenfeld, Natalia Pavlutskaya, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi and David Takeno, among others. Liz won first prize in the HSBC Classics String Concerto Competition 2007 and performed the Haydn Cello Concerto in D major with the NUS Symphony Orchestra in 2008.
