Micael Öberg: musician, drummer, educator. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden on the 7th of September 1970.His strength lies in his versatility. One day he can be doing a Country recording date and the next day turn around and be doing anything from Jazz, Rock and/or Soul.The general perception of him as a live musician is that he listens and gives the other musicians what they want. Dynamics and the overall sound picture are important to him. Micael that everything shouldn't sound the same but that the sound and 'feel' of a performance is as important as timing and communication.As an eductor he is appreciated for his way of getting the message across. The ideal that propels Micael's method of teaching is a firm grounding in the fundaments of musicianship, stick technique, communication and reading. In this way, students receive the tools that they need in order to be able to choose their future direction. In Micael's philosophy all musics are related. Based on this idea, Micael maintains that the responsibility of the educator to open peoples eyes so that musical development can occur.
