About Me
For 7 years I worked at Arista records breathing in music. Music was more in my heart than making it a reality, let's say I loved day dreaming about it. I then realized that my dream can become a reality.
It started before I was even born. When my mother was a little girl she would sing as she sewed. When she got older she played the arcadian. Then she met my father. Hint Hint. My father sang, played the clarinet, saxophone and still plays the piano. That's, where it all started.
Home Sweet Home where the music always lingered in the air. If it wasn't my parents entertaining us with their old Sicilian songs, it was my older brothers either in the basement or in the garage playing their punk metal music. It took me in, and it will remain in my veins. My brothers played, the guitar, bass, drums, and piano. They created music that was ahead of their time. CBGB's was one of the many places they performed at. Even as a child I was twirling around making up my own songs. I would bring my composition notebook with me everywhere and just write. I was only a child and it was running through my veins. It was always a dream, never thought it was something that could come to reality. It was like escaping to a fantasy world. I would sit on the amp and sing the words on my page to my brother. I was the little girl with the dj's headphone's on her head, yes my brothers were dj's. I was also that little girl always on the dance floor. My younger brother plays the guitar and my sister plays the piano. My instrument is my voice box. Music always brought me to another place and now I will bring everyone there with me. I never thought of it professionally, I just thought of it as a passion. Passion, something you're constantly thinking of, your mind escapes into it's world and makes your heart smile. My family is very artistic, in all sorts of art, it's in each and everyone of us. I blame my parents and I thank them. Without them I would not have a voice. Creativity is what makes me, me.
As I got older my brother knew I wanted my own stereo where I could plug in my mic and sing along with the music. Of course I could not afford it. At first I would use headphones as my mic, but then I eventually moved up and got a mic. All I wanted to do was sing, I wanted to be a singer in my room. He surprised me one day and brought it home for me, I paid him little by little. I would record myself singing my originals acapella. In High School, one of my best friends bought me a mic for my birthday, I never got off that mic. My parents never knocked on my door to shut me up, they always encouraged me. My family was my influence and my supporters and along came my friends. I know my brother is watching over me now and proud that I am taking my passion and making it a reality. I still have my stereo with the tape deck broken, I will never get rid of it, ever!
