My name is Charlie Burge, I was born in Hamilton, Ontario on April 27th 1975. I am currently in the Canadian Forces stationed in Edmonton Alberta with 3 P.P.C.L.I. After having many different jobs back in Hamilton, I decided at 27 to join the military. It was probably the best decision I ever made up until that point in my life. I have done things that I know I would not have done as a civilian, and in July of 2005 I went to Afghanistan. It was an experience I can only describe as different. I can't say it was bad and I can't say it was good but It's something I'll never forget. I think the hardest part was losing my grandfather (Bud Anderson) to cancer while I was there, and not being able to come home for his funeral. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He went over with the 2nd Battallion P.P.C.L.I in 1950, and in April of '51 was involved in the battle of Kapyong. The family military involvement doesn't end there though. His father, my great grandfather Charles Anderson was also in the military. He served during WWII and was also fortunate enough to make it home. He died on the morning of April 27th 1975, the day I was born. Hence my name. Well this is just a little bit about me but I have a big family and could not possibly mention everybody. I will try to update this sight as often as I can.
