Biography of Dive3d
Dive was set up in May 1999, in Warsaw. The first months of the band's activity were spent on creating music for Dive's demo debut. The demo was recorded in December 1999 in the rehearsal room. "Eye Of The Gun" contains four songs: "Deny", "Fear", "Unhappymess" and "Eye Of The Gun" itself.
Wanting the world to know about Dive, the musicians started presenting the demo on-air. At the end of 1999 it appeared on Makakofonia, one of the most respected radio programmes about heavy & underground music in Poland. The listeners' reaction was immense - the band was not able to provide all the newly-gained fans with the demo CDs for a while.
The following months were dedicated to playing gigs and visiting numerous radio stations. Sound quality of "Eye Of The Gun" demo was good enough for broadcasting, even though the material was recorded in Spartan conditions. All four songs were widely broadcast.
In June 2000, all songs from "Eye Of The Gun" appeared on the Internet (mp3 format) on a huge site devoted to music, named Mixer (www.mixer.pl). During the first three weeks Dive reached more than 900 downloads, which appeared as the website's best beginners' result. Soon after, "Deny" was put on an exclusive list of the 10 most frequently downloaded songs from www.mixer.pl. Later on, the songs from the debut demo also became available at other significant websites: www.mp3.com.pl, www.nuta.pl and www.rockmetal.pl. January 2001: "Fear" gets an award at Mixer, as one of the most interesting mp3s of the year 2000. The very same month, editors of Nuta.pl distinguished all Dive's songs among the most interesting debuts.
A bit before, in November 2000, Dive made its TV debut, in "Strefa P" - a Polish channel TV4 programme. The band gave an interview and also played live in the program. It was another opportunity to gain media's goodwill for heavy and not-really-commercial music.
In the meantime, the band managed to prepare circa 20 songs and to play bigger gigs. Dive's members tried to draw attention of big companies. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, the market reality is spelled POP. Polish companies are all convinced that the material is very interesting and they say it without shame, but too heavy sound and the vocalist singing in English are unacceptable for them.
In May 2002 Dive recorded 2 songs for Universal Music Polska - "Deny" and "Czas". These 2 songs were released as a part of the Universal CD compilation titled "Nowa Energia" ("New Energy").In June 2002 Dive 3d made a clip for "Czas". In October "Czas" was for the first time presented on the Rock List of Viva Polska and within one week hit the top position on the list.
There was a film about Dive3d and 2 other bands made and published in September 2002. In October 2002 song “Czas†got to Rock List of VIVA Poland at once holding for many weeks the 1st place. In 2002 the band was a guest of many Polish TV and radio programmes. In March 2003 Universal Music Polska released the 3rd edition of New Energy CD Compilation with the Dive3d’s clip made for the song „Czasâ€.
In 2003 Dive signed a contract with Mystic Production. Later on there was the debut album of Dive3d released on March the 8th 2004 titled „Auraâ€. The album contains 13 songs of various moods. The promotion was supported by a video clip “Auraâ€.
In September 2001 Dive changed its name into Dive3d.
Within the following years Dive 3d played a lot of concerts around Poland (among others the tour “Bomb Your Ears†with Moonglight).
In 2005 Kuba left the band. After a few months Dive 3d started rehearsals with a new drummer Krystian who has been playing with the band till today.
