What up Austin Texas?!
My name is Raphina Austin, some of you know me as Lady A.
I'm a 23 yr old singer/songwriter, dancer/choreographer, and spokesperson.
I was born in Sulphar Springs, Texas, May 6th, 1985. I grew up in a small town called Mineola Texas. I've lived in Austin for the past 7yrs.
I'm a happily married mother of two. I grew up in a large family, the baby of 4 boys and two very supportive parents. I love to spend time with my family. Though I have a busy schedule I'm very much a homebody. I love sports,boardgames and videos games and a GOOD dance competition.
Some of you will remember me as a host/moderator of a show called "Subtext" it aired nightly on "The CW of Austin" .
As a Certified Dance Instructor I teach beginner to advance Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Ballet, Pom/Cheer, and preschool & toddler movement, as well as privates.
I was the instructor at Flammin' Dance Force for 3 yrs and taught fundamentals of dance at Dance Associates for 2 years.
My performance experiance would include,singing at the, Apollo Nite, presented by the Texas Beauty Culture League, dancing at The Trail of Lights, Fiesta Texas, Jump On It and halftime for the Dallas Cowboys. A Jr. Dallas Mavericks Dancer, ABA Ft. Worth Dancer , and performing on the Royal Carribean in the Bahamas.
I've done choreography for Alpha Phi Alphas' Delta Chapter Annual Miss Black & Gold Pageant at Huston Tilotson , the musical "Bye Bye Birdie" at the Lake Country Playhouse, choreographed the opening for "New Years with Lil' Flip 05" and Rap Fest 05 and assisted with choreography for Geo's Hip-Hop workshop, Yes GEO, from the lastest tv show "America's Best Dance Groups!". As well as a host of other things.
I'm currently writting lyrics for MY upcoming album. I'm booked for shows all over Austin. My style of music is a mix of Funk/Hip-hop/Pop.
I prefer live raw music or what I call old school music, ya know before "the synthesizer".
I really enjoy entertaining , but mostly, I enjoy making people happy!
