Full band returning soon

About Me

November 10 2006 at the Exeter Hall, Oxford saw the debut of Spokane - a mix of hard-edged but melodic alt-country, dark folk, americana and epic indie. Thank you to everyone who came to our (most of them in fact sold out!) gigs last year and this year so far. Welcome to Mark Fransham who joins on guitar and vocals.NOTE TO FOLKS WANTING TO BOOK US: Currently, Spokane are rebuilding and rehearsing a new line-up due to the departure of Luke and Peter (Luke has moved to Devon, Pete's main band, Script, is now back up and running). A full band will return in December. Acoustic solo/duo/trio gigs only are available in October and NovemberDemo tracks recorded and mixed at Blue Moon Studios, Bodicote, Oxfordshire (the studio comes highly recommended by the band). **Extract from CD Review from www.russellsreviews.co.uk** 'North Bend' takes the rhythm of Patti Smith's 'Dancing Barefoot' and paranoid Matt Johnson style vocals and makes a slice of hard edged country, 'As The Leaves Fall From The Tree' is like Nick cave singing an old traditional folk tune and 'By Your Name' is the best song, a Johnny Cash style rumble, with edgy, cutting vocals.

Sounds Like: From Nightshift July 2007"The crowd suddenly swells to welcome Spokane and their dark, alt.country music that sounds for all the world like Chris Isaac reincarnated on Cowley Road. They're fronted by Dan Morgan, whose implausibly deep, sonorous voice demands attention...classy songs like 'By Your Name' recall Johnny Cash in leaving us feeling satisfied if a little unsettled." When acoustic means acoustic, & recent Nightshift review

Wow, a (solo) acoustic gig coming up that as far as I understand it will actually be just me (Dan) and a guitar. And no amplification. In a garden for Swisstival at the Port Mahon in Oxford....
