About Me

RBPMOne guy, and a pack of mates snarling and foaming at the mouth for a culture that gives us more. All stupidly and equally bored with both that ellusive futher education and mainstream design on the whole. All knowing that there is better out there, we just have to look for it, the problem is, its surrounded by so much crap, we're not really sure what we're looking for any more -celebrities? No. Fame? Maybe. Money? Isn't everyone? Inspiration? Yes.We know deep down that buying pretty things, watching telly and getting slaughtered isn't all its cracked up to be, but what else is there? Afterall, isn't ignorance bliss?somewhere along the line, the things we do to make us happy got highjacked by accountants and became bland and boring. As large industries merge and small businesses fail, its clear that we're headed towards a sterile monoculture available from the same stores we buy our food and cleaning products. but theres no point moaning on about it, or the easier option - just letting it happen. We need to rebuild a new future ourselves . . . . . And not sell out so readily this time around.Broadsheet supplements have decimated the 'design and style' magazine market since culture magazines were born. You can now access information in multiple magazines more widely than ever before, and most of its for free. But information is nothing without context, perspective and opinion, which in such a throw away world, is something only independent publications like ‘R’ can honestly provide. We must learn to fully appreciate, cherish and therefore maintain all vehicles for independent thought before they are gone for good.I’m, in-fact, WE’RE bored of being safe. I need more than retail therapy and I don’t give a fuck about celebrities. This is a fanzine honest enough to admit that our ‘disposable’, ‘ripped off’ world is both utterly ridiculous and incredibly important. In any case, its gotta be better than Heat and Nuts, Right?!For those of you that missed it, that was a congratulation on spending your sterling pounds wisely.See you next season, take it easy,R. Editor at large.
