Tokyo to Oklahoma City ... hmmm?

About Me

Working in global communications technologies and I'm enjoying life to it's fullest whenever I can. Just got back from being overseas for three years, and I've missed being able to walk into a bar and speak English when I buy a round. Looking to catch up with old friends from college and make new ones in the good old OKC.

My Interests

Live music, driving fast on open road, snowboarding, a pint in an Irish pub, a good couple of hours at the gym, reading on a long flight, music in the background, a game of soccer/basketball on a Sunday afternoon, Austin summers, people-watching, a pitcher at Crown & Anchor on a Thurs night, hiking in Japanese woodlands and foothills, playing with dogs, wandering into a new bar, smashing my CBR in the Okutama mountains and avoiding the cliffs.

I'd like to meet:

Either a ninja or a pirate, but I'm smart enough to know that they don't get along. So I'd have to arrange two meetings.

Music:

Honestly anything but country ... anything. Black Eyed Peas, the Roots, Mos Def, Rusted Root, DMB, Bjork, the Doors, Sinatra, Portishead, Deftones, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Tribe Called Quest, Beck, Tricky, Aphex Twin, the Fugees, Common, Oakenfold, DJ Shadow, DJ Q-bert, Dilated Peoples, Matisyahu, White Stripes, Nick Cave, el Pres!dente, Lyrics Born, Lupe Fiasco, Bedouin Soundclash ... and I freaking love the 80s for some reason.

Movies:

Shawshank Redemption, Napoleon Dynamite, Shichinin no Samurai, The Ring, Tous les Matins du Monde, Life After, We Were Soliders, Ghost in the Shell, Wo Hu Cang Long, Labyrinth, Super Troopers, O Brother Where Art Thou, A Christmas Story, Swingers, Office Space, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Schindler's List, Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, Braveheart, The Princess Bride, Ying Xiong, Glory, Stand By Me, Shinobi, Casshern, The Fountain

Television:

MST3K

Books:

The World is Flat, Blink, The Fabric of the Cosmos, Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, The Rule of Four, Utopia, Gates of Fire, Minds Machines & the Multiverse, The Dancing Wu Li Masters, Cosmos, The Teeth of the Tiger, The Arab Mind, Tolkein & the Great War, The Hill Fights are all the ones lying around. Most of the classic stuff is in boxes somewhere.

Heroes:

The unsung and uncelebrated folks that make this crazy life of ours better through sheer pluck and luck day in and day out.
