Hey, Its J (the duk3 of d4rkn355) here. I am 20 years old, living in Sydney Australia. So far i have done a few gigs and things here and there for Hoop Dreamz Australia - www.hoopdreamz.com.au and Risque urban artist management.
In 2006 i performed with ADZ (rapper/singer) and RAPT (dance troupe) at the Groove Sydney Finals receiving great feedback and applause.
Following that, in december i was a support for the DMX concert at luna park
performing a short beatbox skit advertising for battlegrounds where i battled in the Australian Beatbox Kings Championships, taking second place.
I have a variety of styles i like to use in my beat boxing. Mostly Break-beat, drum and bass and emulating popular songs heard on the radio and creating covers. e.g. my favourites: I'm a slave for you - Britney Spears, Pump it - Black Eyed Peas and also a selection of Missy Elliott tracks.
I also use loop pedal skills to create multi-layered soundscapes on the spot which can sound pritty tight, when you get it just right (rhyme unintentional). I use a variety of musical influences that represent worldwide cultures such as African, Jamaican, Indigenous Australian and Indian.
As far as rapping goes i am known for the high speeds i can reach while spitting rhymes with quirky ideas and concepts that i put into my tracks.
At the moment in my career i am really just looking for different people to work with aka producers, managers and other open minded musicians to help me pursue my love for hip hop music and performance.enjoy!
