The McGowan Family Band

About Me

............................................................ ............................................................ ........... The McGowan Family Band is an Edmonton based electric and/or acoustic band that formed in 1999 and definitely gave a kick start to the 21st Century . Consisting of three brothers with many friends and guests the band continues to produce jams and beats to move the body and entertain the soul. The McGowans usually show their roots by playing a couple of Grateful Dead tunes whether they play acoustic or electric. This band shows absolute diversity by ranging through experimental jams to traditional folk music as well as incorporating psychadelic electrical performances, not to mention the vocal harmonies. Yes it is true that the McGowan Family Band tries to defy definition and continue to change and progress, while continuing to pump out the traditional tunes that we know and love. With the dream of one day having their own anuual festival; the band continues to play almost any and every type of venue along the way, ranging from house calls to the great outdoors you can always be sure to find The McGowan Family Band.
