The Impulse 915 loves you

The Impulse 91.5 is a non-profit, commercial free college radio station. We operate on the frequency 91.5 MHz; transmitting at an effective radiating power of 3000 watts. Our studio is located in the Vail Building of Lyndon State College, and our transmitter is located atop Vail Hill in Lyndonville, VT. Our license is held by the Board of Trustees of the Vermont State Colleges. What about our format, you might ask? Here at the IMPULSE we don’t believe in one format! But we would call it something like, Non-formatted with hints of Rock influences. We like to think this brings a very diverse mix of all music genres to the Northeast Kingdom and beyond. Within the mix can also be heard ‘Mozart’ to ‘Sevendust’ with everything else in the middle. Here at the IMPULSE, we feel thrilled that we can deliver such a mix to the community with our student run Radio station; furthermore providing types of music that would not, on average be heard in our area. The IMPULSE broadcast from 6am-3am daily during the school year, with programming that is helped by requests from the surrounding listening area and our Lyndon State College student body. Students might say our format is “…loosely based on Charlie Manson. Crazy off the hook and could go anywhere at anytime”, with specialty shows ranging anywhere from Classical to Jazz to Classic Rock to Heavy Metal.
