I am obsessed with Japan and the Japanese culture. I love anime and manga(Fruits Basket, I LOVE YOU!!!). I have many friends, but I mainly keep to the few I know are true.
I will listen to anything, but I especially like music I can dance to. Latino, 80's music, J-pop, hip hop in moderation. Pretty much all genres, but I do not like: super-twangy cuhntry music, major-hardcore metal, and most all types of rap, but Eminem is actually good.
J-pop(japanese pop) is my current favorite.
This is a very special song to me. It's an Australian folk song, and they sang it at Steve Irwins memorial service. Imagine, an entire stadium full of people singing this song, slowly and reverently. Very sad. I cried.:
Home among the gum trees - John Williamson
I've been around the world a couple of times, or maybe more,
I've seen the sights, I've had delights on every foreign shore,
but when my mates all ask me the place that I adore,
I tell them right away.Give me a home among the gum trees,
with lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, a ka-kangaroo.
A clothes line out the back, verandah out the front,
and an old rocking chair. You can see me in the kitchen cooking up a roast,
or Vegemite on toast, just you and me, a cup of tea.
And later on we'll settle down and mull up on the porch,
and watch the possums play.
Give me a home among the gum trees,
with lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, a ka-kangaroo.
A clothes line out the back, verandah out the front,
and an old rocking chair. There's a Safeway up the corner, and a Woolys down the street,
a brand new place they've opened up where they regulate the heat,
but I'd trade them all tomorrow for a simple bush retreat
where the kookaburras call.Give me a home among the gum trees,
with lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, a ka-kangaroo.
A clothes line out the back, verandah out the front,
and an old rocking chair. Some people like their houses with fences all around,
others live in mansions, and some beneath the ground.
But Me, I like the bush, you know with rabbits running 'round,
and a pumpkin vine out the back.
Give me a home among the gum trees,
with lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, a ka-kangaroo.
A clothes line out the back, verandah out the front,
and an old rocking chair.
Give me a home among the gum trees,
with lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, a ka-kangaroo.
A clothes line out the back, verandah out the front,
and an old rocking chair.
Again anything. I don't like teen movies really at all, but I watch them so I can make fun of them. I really like horror movies because they never scare me at all. When everyone else is afraid I am laughing my ass off. I love V for Vendetta, because it reminds me so much of 1984, which I loved, and also Hugo Weaving is awesome. I especially love old time radio, like The Shadow and War of the Worlds. They are so great.
I like all types of books, but I really enjoy the fantasy novels by Clive Barker. He is a horror film writer, mainly, but he wrote these books about the ABARAT and they are amazing. There was one book I read recently, and it was the best book I've ever read. It was about a girl who loses her mother and is taken care of by her grandma with a little help from her dad. Her grandma gets sick though, a stroke. And so she has to learn how to live without her, even though she is still alive, just more like a shell of memories. Very sad, but very encouraging at the same time.I love poetry though. Emily Dickinson is a personal favorite, although alot of times she's really depressing, but you spend your entire life in the same house until you die with no lover or anything but your work and see just how pippy you feel.
