My name is Angela Kirby, and I am the volunteer Executive Coordinator for Stolen Horse International. This nonprofit is the largest resource for horse theft victims and people missing horses. We also help locate stolen tack and trailers.
Debi Metcalfe has worked for 10 years to build this organization after the theft of her family's horse, Idaho, a spotted racking horse mare. It took Debi and her family 51 weeks to find Idaho, and once they did, the family intended to go back to life as normal. However, Debi quickly realized that Idaho's theft was the end of normal. People were emailing her from all over the U.S. asking for help in locating their stolen horses. Debi saw a need and a way to ease other people's journeys, and Stolen Horse International was formed.
Today, the organization has grown to thousands of members and hundreds of list groups. The Web site traffic has doubled in just the last year. For more about this great organization, please visit www.netposse.com
