About Me

A bit about me... I grew up in Lisbon and music has always been a big part of my life... I’ve been playing keyboards forever, but I only took up serious piano lessons in 1997. Between 1998-2004 I studied in a local Conservatory, where I also got some singing lessons and done some singing in choirs. For a while I’ve yet attended university for Musicology, but left after completing only half of it (2 years), because I thought it was too focused on theory... Previous to this, I’ve also learned guitar for a bit...
Although I enjoy playing a lot, composing is what really drives me. I do mostly film music, including in 2005 the short movie "Dependance" by french director Laurent Breuil for Nyctalope Films. But every now and then I step out of it for a different project. I also work regularly with french songwriter Michael Pringuay, a dear friend.
I’m always looking for new projects, so do drop me a note if you think you might have something for me ;)

Favorite movies/directors: I dream of one day having the privilege of working with such directors as Gaspar Noé, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, James L. Brooks and M. Night Shyamalan. Very different styles, but all genius. My favorite movies include "Irréversible" (Gaspar Noé), "The Thin Red Line", "The Prestige" (Christopher Nolan), "American Beauty", "Mystic River" (I only wish it had a better score, it really deserved it), "The Perfume", Before Sunrise" & "Before Sunset", "Batman Begins" (Christopher Nolan), "In America", "A Mighty Heart", "Spanglish", "Million Dollar Baby", "The Pianist", "Finding Neverland", "The Sixth Sense", "The Village"... and many more... creative directors with a vision, who go for that something special and different, put lots of attention to detail and surprise us yet again......
