Born Canterbury, England, Mary Garcia-Garner acquired her first guitar aged 12.Influenced by the drive of Suzi Quatro and the sounds of Keith Richards, Malcolm Young, Pete Townsend and the visuals and story telling of Peter Gabriel’s Genesis.At age 16 Mary played her first rock gig at a party in the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. Complaints about the noise levels from the Dean and Chapter ensued!In 1992 she formed the all girl Indie band Atomic Kandy with Claire Ross. After national tours, two albums and numerous t.v and radio interviews, the band’s success was cut short by a near fatal road accident.European tours with acoustic intsrumental trio Hex Hex followed, until the lure of the electric guitar was too much for Mary. Zephyr 6 were formed in 1996, a band with the sound, look and energy of the Sixties’ rock scene. Over the top stage clothes, cranked up Vox AC30 amplifiers, and vintage guitars evoked the rawness of Janis Joplin, the Stones, the Yardbirds and the Who.From 2001 until 2007 Mary toured with Steve Steinman's Vampires Rock (Hell Mary) and the Meat Loaf Trilogy, bringing her dynamism and rocky edge to both shows. In the last twelve months she has appeared at over one hundred venues including Manchester M.E.N, Sheffield Hallam F.M Arena, Nottingham Arena, Edinburgh Playhouse, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Caird Hall Dundee.
