About Me

Ahmed Mahrach, a.k.a. OneVoiZ was born September 14th , 1980 in Amsterdam. Both his parents were born in Tetouan, Morocco. OneVoiZ is the second child in a family of five children. His passion for music began at a very young age. It was rap and hip hop music that really threw him over though. During OneVoiZ his youth, Hip Hop was quite underground and hadn't made its way to the mainstream in the Netherlands yet.At an early age he started writing, 'home made' raps but also short stories inspired by his environment. He spent a lot of time with his homies in the neighborhood “free styling” and once in a while they would record some tracks. Also he started break dancing, something that connected him even more with Hip Hop. It took him back to the “Old School” roots in the late seventies and showed him where it all began. After graduating high school OneVoiZ took a year off to train hard and work on his music. He founded the Multiple Artz Crew, a group of b-boys and rappers. In December 2000 they gave their first show in the Dutch city Hilversum. The show was a big hit and he wound up giving more shows with Multiple Artz. The year after he went to the university to study political science. However one year later he suspended his studies because the group had too much shows lined up and he decided to go for it.Hip Hop started growing in the Netherlands and the group was doing a lot of shows all over the country. A foundation called Culture Coalition approached him to do a theater production. He wrote the script with DJ Will and Bass, both members of the Multiple Artz crew. The show started in October 2004 and is called "Outlawz of the Future". These last few years he has performed and also played roles in television shows like "Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden" and "Alex FM", starred in commercials like MacDonald's, Sisi, Nike, Philips, Footlocker, CrossColours, Karl Kani, Vokal, Adidas and played leading roles in hip hop musicals as "Skills", "Outlawz of the future" and "Het vreemdelingenlegioen". OneVoiZ also worked a lot with the "Marmoucha" foundation and was a familiar face on the "Whayo" tour and many other events initiated by Marmoucha. Thanks to his reputation as a versatile MC, OneVoiZ is often asked by big corporations to make special theme songs for them exclusively. In 2007 he did this for "Volkwagen", "Xtension", "Golden Giraffe Awards" and "Marc van Laere Producties". These performances included guests as the Dutch prime minister J.P. Balkenende. Even at these parties OneVoiZ gets the party going on and touches the audience!OneVoiZ has worked with his producers (Gremlinh, Menace, Tommy Vamoz, Babs-Q) these last years and finished his debut album. This was released begin 2008 with Bent Bladi as its first single. This album is a report of his life so far in which his Moroccan roots, his social consciousness and love for music are definitely represented. And with songs like Bent Bladi, MoRockin', I Will Survive en So fresh it is a must have for every hip hop fan.Now the focus is on Morocco, the place of his origin. OneVoiZ sees the growth of Moroccan hip hop worldwide and has always played his part in this. Now he seeks to intensify his relationship and help build on a strong foundation so Moroccans can enjoy hip hop for generations to come. He has released his first single "Bent Bladi" there exclusively threw 2M Radio and Television and the song was an instant hit loved by the people and even drew the attention of the Moroccan Royal Palace. Bent Bladi is a dedication to Moroccan women; mothers daughters and sisters. It is a hip hop version of the classic Chkara song by the same title. OneVoiZ has established himself in the Moroccan hip hop scene by releasing this monumental song. After the huge success of Bent Bladi, his second single "It's My Life" has been released June 28 2008 live during the popular television show Studio 2M. It was a memorable performance which established OneVoiZ and showed that he is not a one hit wonder and will be around for a long time.OneVoiz has got to be the most promising Moroccan hip hop artist today so stay tuned and be on the lookout for OneVoiZ! ..
