The film society at the University of Essex is in its second year and we are absolutely fanatical about film! We provide students with an opportunity to watch free Hollywood blockbuster films as soon as they are released on DVD. We also plan to be showing Asia Extreme films, World cinema, cult and classic hits. This year we aim to provide an improved service to the students; not only do we want to provide students with two free film screenings every week, we aim to organise monthly socials, trips to London and also big film festivals. We want to create a unique cinematic experience for students by creating the ideal film environment with a large screen, showing you quality movies and hopefully, this year we will be able to provide film food for your enjoyment. The film screenings we provide are ideal for everyone as the screenings are non-alcoholic events.
