Burial Ritual

About Me

Formed in the winter of 2005, BURIAL RITUAL is a unique blend of old school death metal, black metal, and thrash that few in their home state of Wisconsin have attempted in recent years. With a desire to produce heavy music that listeners of all metal genres can appreciate, BURIAL RITUAL's sound has evolved heavily over the years from a "death 'n' roll" style to darker, faster and more melodic. Their first EP release in 2007 entitled 'Last Rites' was but a taste of what the band was capable of, and after very positive reviews much anticipation began to build about what their next release would be like, and soon after 'Tower of Silence' was announced.
BURIAL RITUAL's overall theme is focused on death, the occult, religion, and burial practices. The music itself is the result of differing musical backgrounds that each band member relates to, and elements of death metal, thrash, black metal, grindcore, and doom are all present in some form. Their goal is simple; take the best elements of all these different sub-genres and meld them into its own dark creation and push the boundaries in terms of how a band's sound is defined.
With an intense live act that will have your head banging and fist pumping, BURIAL RITUAL are fast becoming a well known and respected act in the underground metal scene. BURIAL RITUAL has had the honor to open for and play alongside such acts as Behemoth, Testament, Dimmu Borgir, Vital Remains, and more.
