I keep starting 'About Me' sections with the words: "I'm a professional photographer".And….. I am. But this is ‘My Space’ and this section is, after all, ‘About Me’, so maybe I should write a little about some other stuff. After all, my chosen profession doesn’t completely define me.What does? Well, probably the diversity itself. I’m a musician and a writer, and a reader and a talker, and I seem to spend a huge amount of time in cafes of one description or another. Join me! I like company.I divide my time between London and Prague, and love both. And I have a special love for Cornwall, which I left behind to embark on my present life adventure.Coffee, dramatic skies, single malt whisky, cats, more coffee, friends, good films, trash films, incense, real music, romance, drumming, kindness, the look of love from wide eyes, tarot, any real hearfelt connection…. er… did I mention coffee yet?Actually, truth is, I’m passionate about far too many things for my own good. And photography is one of them. But my fascination with people, and nature, and music, and film keeps me wanting to take pictures of them.Variety isn’t the spice of life; it’s the meat and two veg. Diversity cross-pollinates. It does for me, anyway. By playing music I take better pictures of musicians. Doesn't that make sense?So….. am I a diverse, creative sensualist? How can honesty sound so wank? But then I suppose love is a cliché, and I don’t see any shortatge of takers….Ok, if you want to see the serious stuff, my professional face is at: www.photosbyphoenix.comand my photographic blog is at: www.thephoenixweblog.comSome of my past musical misdemeanors can be heard at: www.myspace.com/therealredhed and www.myspace.com/symphonyofpain(I’ll put up a link for the present stuff soon! Likewise the novels)There’ll be a haphazard European café guide at www.flaneur.be as I weave my contented way along their ruby chain. And if you think I sound like just another hippie art tosser, then get a load of www.corporateexposure.co.uk to catch a glimpse of my darker side. Or maybe it’s my sensible, practical side, and my darker side is actually my predilection for chick lit and romantic comedy. You know, maybe the 'About Me' should just read:I love life. And I take pictures of it.Because photography is not, in fact, a spectator sport.
