About Me

Back in the early 90's club nights such as SLAM, Pure, Back to Basics, Full Circle etc were attracting the finest dj's from around the world and every weekend Justin Wilson, Steve Cass & friends (you know who you are!!) travelled to various nights that were taking place in Scotland and North East England and were exposed to tracks such as Ron Trent's "Altered States" through huge sound systems - it's no wonder people say "those were the best days of our lives!!!" They began to buy the records they were hearing in the clubs and with rapidly growing vinyl collections they decided to have a go at their own club night and in 1995 NO STRINGS ATTACHED was born!! "Ga Ga" or should we say "ONE MORE"The Gala Fairydean clubrooms were to host the first party. Opening the show was one of our greatest influences Rich Bell with good mate Scott Ferguson (Citrus & Carbolick Frolick) We then went on to attract the likes of Alex Knight, Darren Price, Craig Walsh, Harri to this small but unique venue. No Strings Attached grew from strength to strength, the next minute we knew it was the 5th May 2001 and we were waiting on the 7.30pm flight from Heathrow and on it was Andrew Weatherall what can you say!!! one of the very few Dj's who has kept his feet on the ground and given 100% of quality underground music to a generation of clubbers throughout the UK and the World. That year NSA were joined by Phil Perry, Justin Robertson and Edinburgh's legendary Twitch and Brainstorm who were doing their PURE thing!!No Strings Attached moved to Edinburgh in 2002. We touched down at THE VENUE home of the infamous PURE how can we describe pure in one word, it would have to be "sweaty"!! (What a Club/F***ing Electric!!) Justin Robertson played the opening night for us...then NSA began to host their nights on a monthly basis, this is when we were joined by Marshall Jefferson no doubt "The Godfather of House" and our Glasgow Hereo's Stuart Macmillan and Orde Meikle otherwise known as SLAM! a surreal moment as we must have visited The Arches hundreds of times and to play alongside the Glasgow duo was a magical moment. Weatherall re-joined us in June 05 the first time we heard "Alter Ego" - Rocker! it blew the roof off!! Belfast's most promising producer Phil Kieran turned up for another Techno showdown where he dropped the mighty KLF "What time is love" FC Kahuna and Miss Kittin were to be the last of our guests at this Historical Music Venue.December 2006 NSA hosted a one of party at The Liquid Room Edinburgh we were delighted to be djing alongside ex UNDERWORLD star DARREN EMERSON.....who as usual put on a fantastic show!!(nice one DAZ)It's now 2008 and we have found a new home "Move Music Venue"! We will be holding parties there every 2 months..tune in for details! Thanks to all Dj's and people who have been a part of this great experience over the last 13 years!! CIAO.
