Quit to Continue

About Me

Quit to Continue only existed briefly, from October 2000 to mid-2002. At the beginning, none of the members knew each other. Sid was from Alhambra, California, Billy had been living in Olympia, Washington, Chris recently moved from Iowa, Elisa hailed from Berkeley, California and Ludichris II (he was later replaced by Gerald from Rosemead, California) was a New York transplant, yet by chance, maybe even by fate they came together to share ideas and create music. For a variety of reasons, Quit to Continue only played a few live shows before breaking up.
On November 1, 2006, Guillermo (Billy) Francisco Gonzalez, passed away. These songs and this page are here to document some of his work during this period of his life. Choker, Left Right Wrong, and Pressing Hold were recorded in January 2002 in multiple living rooms and bathrooms. Divider was recorded live, onto mini-disc, in September 2002. Recorded with only one microphone in the middle of the Sid’s living room, during a late night practice session, Billy brings a candid vulnerability to the lead vocal. If you listen during the bridge, you will hear their attempts to keep their voices down, so as not to awaken any neighbors.
Billy, you are missed. What started out as a group of strangers became a family… we love our brother.
