About Me
For those that wonder "Who is Tony Morrado?", well lets put things in perspective... Name Anthony Rivera at birth, a 19 year old Puerto Rican raised and resides in the "Southside" of Williamsburg, Brooklyn with the intentions of putting Williamsburg on the map or Hip-Hop. He began to write rhymes at the age of 12. As time passed he realized that there wasn't many people in the neighborhood that ever thought of taking it this far with Rap. Therefore, he has made it a personal goal to do so. Since then his determination is fueled by his family and few artists both dead and alive; "Tru Life", "Big Pun" and "2Pac".
Tru Life is an influence to Morrado because people doubted Tru. Word was that Tru would never make it in the music industry and in due time he succeeded. On the same token Tony feels the need to do the same because as an upcoming Emcee he too is doubted.
As for Big Pun, Morrado highly respects the fact that he was the first Latin, much specific, Puerto Rican Emcee to go Platinum. To add to the fact he is also from NY. Like Morrado, Pun never gave a damn about what people thought or said. No matter what, when or where he kept it real 100% and Ace was glad that there was that type of voice in Hip-Hop for what they mutually represent. In addition, Tony infact feels Big Pun, lyrically, set the bar high so in return, honor and in loving memory of Big Pun, Tony will push it to the limit to re-raise the bar.Tony's family, friends, his fellow Swag Boyz always pushed him to the limit. They always said "If it's your dream to be the next best Puerto Rican emcee..Don't stop keep it up and don't give up". Therefore Morrado will do whatever it takes to make it to the top. His family has always pushed him to go to the studio as much as he can and his boys even put the money on the table when times was hard and no money was available for studio time...His Wifey always told him he had it in him to become something in the future..She has always had big hopes for the kid, never doubted his voice, skills, and passion for music.Morrado grew up to the tunes of 2Pac's. He appreciates the poetic way 2Pac got his messages across. He would analyze his music and enjoys how vivid he can be. Due to this fact this was more than enough to inspire Morrado to write and push in the same direction 2Pac did. Specifically, the thing that he can really relate to is 2Pac's writing ethic. Obviously 2Pac still has poetry/songs releasing even after his death so for the same love they share, Tony will write til his pen runs out of ink. God knows how big the pen is.
All in all, passionate in what he does, he says "I won't stop until I reach my goals and the flames die". With the objective of having clubs bumping, streets banging, and bells ringin, Tony Morrado is in the studio mastering his craft and expressing himself to his best abilities to give Hip-Hop what he feels it needs...
