Alicia Healey is a Seattle-based singer/songwriter specializing in Americana and folk/pop/rock music. She writes and performs original songs primarily as a solo performer, but also appears as a trio (it adds harmonica, harmony vocals and electric guitar to my lead vocal and acoustic guitar) as well as with her full band. She learned to sing from Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton, Carly Simon and Olivia Newton-John; she learned to write from John Prine, Gretchen Peters, James Taylor and Cat Stevens. She is a storyteller who taps into the significance of insignificant moments
What else do you wanna know?
Back on the homestead in Iowa (where she was born and raised), her powerful, classically-trained voice
won her acclaim in musical theatre, but her "inner songwriter"
was hankering to get out. She polished up her folk guitar, came
west, and started writing songs that added a contemporary folk
flavor to her driving pop and country. Her songwriting is
featured on the CD "Quiet Here", "Dusty Saturdays" and the recently released "Live at the Mansion".
However, playing music is only one side of her musical rubik's cube. She is also a producer, engineer, sound consultant/co-ordinator, vocal and performance coach, and bass player. The specialty is acoustic pop and folk; the approach is fun. She works out of her studio, The Winterblue Room, in Seattle.
Her clients include:

Val D'Alessio

Wes WeddellShe spent several years with the acoustic country/folk group Rodeo Lagoon a
group well-known in the Pacific Northwest for its amazing harmonies and fresh
arrangements of folk and bluegrass songs. Rodeo Lagoon recorded an 7-song CD in 2001 ( available for download and order ),
which highlights both the lead-vocal prowess and the magical blend of the three voices.
Her brand new recording "Live at the Mansion" is a new full-band sound, a little rockier than the days on green-topped hills. She is currently busy with several projects. Refocused on a solo show, she is writing new (and polishing off old) songs and refining arrangements and outfits. She is also playing bass and singing with area songwriters.
She also spends an odd weekend or two playing with Sugar Mama, a chemical reaction of some Swamp Mama Johnson and Sugartown band members. The new mixture is a fun, dancable take on a Rock/R&B/Funk- flavored repertoire.
Next Up? A standards album featuring some of her favorite songs - old, new, borrowed... Hopeful release around Thanksgiving 2009!
