About Me
With 8 years of explosive experience across many musical fields, it’s not hard to see why Anth’m is a name more and more are becoming familiar with. A cult following for the last 3 years, Anth’m and his shining star have been rising at an increasingly strong speed, giving him the ability to mould and craft his art so well that he was hand picked by some of Australia’s most respected DJs as the obvious winner in the 2006 Bass Australia National DJ Competition.
It wasn’t too long prior – an entire year in fact – that Anthony had secured a place in the finals for the 2005 competition, but the mix-meister had already begun to secure a fan base prior to this even. Displaying an impressive list of guest DJ sets at clubs including the legendary underground dance floors of Hard Kandy, CBD’s 3D, Melbourne’s biggest Thursday night Elevation, Dream, Online, Connect, Reactive and even the Bass Station 7th Birthday party (alongside such Aussie dance legends as Jewelz, Jason Midro and John Ferris). Influenced by such prominent and groundbreaking Hard Trance producers as Scot Project, Hennes & Cold, Walt and Uberdruck – just to name a few – it’s easy to see that Anth’m likes to play things nice AND hard.
Playing an extensive list of genres, it was always Anthony’s obvious passion for the harder edged club sounds that drove him behind the wheels of steel. From house, to electro, to his main loves found in Uplifting & Hard Trance, Tech Trance, all the classics and even a smidge of Hardstyle, the versatility found in his record crate is astounding. His humble beginnings saw Anth’m whipping an 800 plus a week crowd at various Nightclub’s for several years. Anth’s no stranger to massive crowds, and was playing for them from the earliest days of his career. As he continued to blast the feet of hundreds for hours at a time, his electric connection with the music began to fuse stronger, and he picked up on a certain golden vibe found within Crowd Control. Anthony - who believes a real DJ needs to not only read the crowd well but also be able to work them up – as he is also an entertainer. Constantly bopping up and down during his sets, Anthony’s ability to send his crowd into an absolute spin consistently looks almost effortless.
As his bright light beacons stronger, Anthony plans to develop his craft (and drive) even more not only as a DJ, but also a dance music producer, slowly working his way into studio production and remixing. For someone who’s work at the vinyl spinners has only been under the limelight for a short time – and with a history that read like this already - one can only begin to imagine what the future holds.
