About Me

Throughout the 1990s, former schoolmates Ford and Hooper played together in local rock groups such as Sixteen, Sweater and Sheadly. Having recruited bassist Jo Taylor, the trio formed the group Beachy Head. After recording a number of demos and an unreleased album under the name, the trio re-christened the band Easyworld after a lyric in their song 'Better Ways To Self Destruct' which became the title of their first EP. Their first single, Hundredweight, was released on Fierce Panda Records in 2001 and was followed by the mini-album Better Ways to Self Destruct the same year. The band signed to Jive Records in early 2002 and soon after released their first full-length album, This is Where I Stand. The group's final record, Kill the Last Romantic, was released on February 2, 2004. The album was characterised by a mellow, piano-led sound akin to Coldplay and Keane. This album spawned the relatively unsuccessful singles 2nd Amendment and 'Til The Day. Following pressure from their record company, the band recorded and released the non-album How Did It Ever Come To This?, which was released as a double a-side with Kill The Last Romantic track Celebritykiller on August 30 2004. The group played their last public performance on the second day of 2004's V Festival in Staffordshire. They announced their split in September 2004. Following the band's dissolution, Jo Taylor fronted the short-lived Cherry Hinton and is now sporting a new project The Love Alive, Glenn Hooper joined Dryrise on drums, and also formed a duo called Perrin with friend and former easyworld webmaster, Paul Annett. David Ford currently performs as a solo artist and in 2005, released his debut album, I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I've Caused on Independiente. In December 2005, David Ford's webmaster and band friend David Lennon released an 'unreleased' collection on DVD through his side label, Skiffle Recording Co., featuring unreleased music videos from the band's second album, "Kill the Last Romantic" amongst other rare songs and videos.
