About Me

I guess first of all I am working on a PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. I'm studying the expression of a certain set of genes in breast cancers, as well as a side project of looking at the estrogenic activities of Caribbean botanicals. We have recently filed my first provisional patent on my cancer gene work. It sounds interesting...unless you do it everyday, but I guess anything would get boring if you do it enough.
I love music, mainly hard rock, metal and classical. I like to listen to something that makes you think and makes you want to move. I have been studying dance since college, where I took ballet as a class. Since moving back to the Louisville area, I have found a dance school that is classically taught, challenging and full of great people.
My obsession is eventing, which is considered the equestrian triathalon and is composed of 3 phases: dressage, cross-country and stadium jumping. My previous partner is Avenger's Angel, who is now semi-retired after teaching me so much: now she is teaching others. My former partner and friend was Say What (Jimmy), who taught me a ton and took me up the big jump to Preliminary. I have 3 horses in our barn currently in training. Ima Little Waki (Eddie), who just completed his first novice horse trials, Scavenger Hunt has competed in a dressage show this spring before attemping our first horse trials, and Clearly a Princess who is still learning the basics. I do some teaching at our barn and with Sunny Side Pony Club. Although don't have a whole lot of spare time, if someone wants to learn, I'll help them out.
