About Me

Well where to begin...Not that there is a lot I want you to understand, it;s just that the structured approach isn't really my thing. More a close your eyes, stick the tail on the donkey...oh crap thats the dog kinda guy.Well enough of that, I'm a Civil Servant. Whilst that doesn't sound remarkably interesting you'd be right, however it does provide many things to me, roof over my head, food on the table (who am I kidding, I've not eaten a meal at a table since I was in school) Anyway you reach 25 and you suddenly start needing to purchase things and the people at the shop would rather you had money, and the people at the bank would rather I had regular income so I thought better to settle down.I'm in a relationship with a lovely lady called Jenny, she's the brains, looks and the sensible one in the relationship...so I'm really the other bits. We have just bought a house so we're both now financially tied down for what seems to be 30 years. Worrying when you look at it and I havn't even been alive for that long.

My Interests

Computers (I genuinely can't imagine my life without the internet, how people used to manage is beyond me.) Lots of American TV, reading, cinema, music.

I'd like to meet:

Wow, erm, I dunno. Without giving this any thought. In one of those, who would you invite to a dinner party from any moment in history kinda things.Stephen Fry, Bill Clinton, Martin Sheen, Eddie Izzard, Bono, Stephen Spielberg, Mohammed Ali, John Lennon, Hugh Laurie. And probably many many more, but I'll update this later.

Music:

Amiee Mann, Anthony and the Johnsons, Arctic Monkeys, Athlete, Badly Drawn Boy, Beatles, Bedouin Soundclash, Ben Folds Five, Coldplay, Counting Crows, Nick Drake, Editors, Frou Frou, Franz Ferdinand, Gomez, Gorillaz, Happy Mondays, Ian Parker, Jack Johnson, Jeff Buckley, Jose Gonzalez, Keane, Libertines, Manics, Marc Knopfler, Moby, Morrisey, Natalie Merchant, Nizlopi, Oasis, Mr. Weller, Pink Floyd, Pixies, REM, Smiths, Stereophonics, Stone Roses, Suede, Tori Amos, U2, Verve. Thank you Itunes for the alphabeticisation (And if thats not how its spelt then it should be!!!)

Movies:

Christ I could go on for years and probably would, so suffice to say if you enjoyed it I probably own it and I'm sure at some point I'll write a list, but all hail to you Mr. Speilberg, for the highs, the lows and the joyous stories for all the imbetweeny bits.

Television:

Slightly easier, West Wing, Sports Night, Spooks, Teachers, Dawsons Creek, Soldier Soldier, Phoenix Nights, That Peter Kay thing, Buffy, Angel, Star Trek TNG and I'm sure again I could go on for ages.

Books:

I'd say most things with pages and words, at the moment I'm reading Bill Bryson, Bernard Cornwell, Mr. Tolkien, Steven Fry and Terry Practchett, but I have nothing but admiration for people who do something I really can't.

Heroes:

Every Man, Woman and Child (some of them really are...) in the Armed Forces, doing a job no-one else wants, under tremendous pressure and public outcrying. This isn't a crazy patroitism thing, I sleep well each night knowing that Brave people have my back and guard that fence. Thank you! Also I think this would would be a very different place but for our Grandparents, who faced down the most destructive force in the history of humanity, and said "No these are things we hold most dear and want to fight for."Anyone that has ever stood up and said things can be better, we can make things better for ourselves.
