Camping, hiking, skiing, photography, writing, reading, watching my HDTV, listening to my stereo really loud, escaping with my iPod when I'm out of town, traveling everywhere I have and haven't been, cracking jokes to total strangers, trying to make a difference in my world, concerts, movies, dining out, dining at home after slaving over my stove or in my oven, sarcasm, hangin' with my friends, driving trains at 80 mph, are you still reading the list of my interests? Should I continue entertaining you with an uber-long list? I shall digress.
Interesting people with an opinion about something that makes for interesting conversation--even if we don't agree. Could be local, could be far away, I don't care, I'm open--always room for more on my overflowing buddy lists.
Okay, first off, my taste it too ecclectic to attempt to list everything here... So let's just consider what I like in a broader scope.. I'm nearing 700 cds, sacds, DVD audio, and dual discs. Most of it is Rock of some sort, classic, 80s, 90s, progressive, alternative, stuff. I enjoy Blues, Jazz, Classical and some musicals, too. If you're going to corner me and ask at gunpoint who my favorite bands are, I'll probably tell you that Rush, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Genesis, Pink Floyd, The Police, ELO, Van Halen, they all top my list.. there are many many more. If you want to know more, let's chat. If you have some to share--I'll listen. =)
Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, Airplane!, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, American Beauty, Movies that star Arnold!, Silence of the Lambs, Matrix, Stanley Kubrick's, Kevin Smith's, Coen brother's, Peter Jackson's, and culturally important films--like Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, House of Sand and Fog, Ran, etc, etc.
Sports in HIGH DEFINITION! Discovery Channel in HIGH DEFINITION!! PBS in HD! IMAX converted to HD.. see the pattern? I can't wait until everything is HD!
I've read so much on railroading lately, it's hard to imagine that there is such a concept as reading for pleasure. But I love James Patterson, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, and a classic here and there when I can. The Da Vinci Code is my latest novel.
My Granddad. If there were ever a tangible man in my life who I aspire to be, it would be him. He was and his spirit continues to be the wind of my conscience. I miss you Gdad!
