About Me

Lou Castro is originally from Whittier, Ca. He plays electric and acoustic basses, keyboards, and various percussion instruments. He also sings lead and background vocals. He has worked with 70's funk pioneers, Mandrill, Arthur Adams, Vivian Campbell, Wayne Newton, Billy Cioffi & The Monte Carlos, Chuck Berry, Don Was, Dennis Herring, Mitchell Froom, Mark Weinberg, Tim Armstrong, Alex Wurman, Carla Olson & The Textones, The Paine Brothers, Jon Butcher, Keiko Matsui, Paul Korda, Maggie Mayall, Rick Latham's "Groove Doctors", John Marx, Doug Aldrich, Mikel Japp, Randy Hansen and Cafe R&B. You can hear him sing in the Steven Weber movie, "Sleep Easy, Hutch Rimes", as well as various commercials and albums. On the production side, he was at the helm of Cathy Segal-Garcia's, "Secret Life" CD, as well as contributing songs and background vocals. You can check him out on the DVD, "Mandrill Live at Montreux 2002", and on recordings by Billy Cioffi & The Monte Carlos("Objects In The Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear" and "American Episodes"), Andy Georges("Time Is A Thief"), Audra Mae, "America" and "Everytime I Leave(I Leave For Good)" by Dave Smallen, and a forthcoming release from The Arthur Adams Band recorded in New Orleans with Ivan Neville, Irma Thomas, "Mean" Willie Green, and pedal steel player, David Easley.
