Influences:
My influences come from a time when rap had soul. A time when u truly got a feel for the artist through their music, not just the model that they follow. To name a few: Native Tongues(A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, and Black Sheep), Rakim, BDP, Souls of Mischief, Boot Camp Click, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Gangstarr, Jeru, Fugees, Nasty Nas, Hova, Roots, Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, Poor Righteous Teachers, Wu-Tang, Cypress Hill, Dre & Snoop, DOC, Common, Canibus, Def squad, OC and so many others.
Oddly enough, I find my greatest inspiration when i'm not listening to hip-hop at all. I love old school jazz. Artist like Art Blakely, Ahmad Jamal, John Coltrane, Miles Davis(Kind of Blue is my joint), Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery, Thelonius Monk, just to many to name. It was a time of improvisation, not like the written freestyles most "rappers" spit today. What an Oxy Moron! A time when creativity was only limited by one's vision, and thats how i approach my own art. Without limitations or boundaries.
