After years of playing revved up punk rock with brains, the guys of R2-Detox knew something bigger was going to happen. The scene changed and people wanted more than three chords and songs about ass kicking. Using their intellect, pop sensibilities and retaining the edge of punk rock, the guys distilled their music through a mind bending coil, the result being the powerpop trio The Nightclub Jitters. With jangly guitars, harmonies, handclaps, and, yes, even a Hammond organ, the guys recall a sound fimiliar to Big Star and Elvis Costello that still packs as big (if not bigger) of a punch. Check out the new E.P., recorded in November of '06 with Jay at Project Sound in Haverhill, MA. Once you do, suddenly everything will start to make sense.
